Door Unlock & Lockout Service

Non-destructive entry when your keys are locked inside — done with proper lockout tooling, not a coat hanger.

Keys locked in the vehicle is an inconvenience, not an emergency — unless it is −30°C, or a child or pet is inside. If someone is locked in the vehicle, call 911 first.

Modern vehicles are far less forgiving of improvised entry than older ones. Door frames are tighter, weatherstripping is easier to tear, and side-impact airbags sit in places you do not want to press against. Proper lockout tools exist for exactly this reason.

Bring identification. A driver will ask you to demonstrate that the vehicle is yours before opening it — that requirement protects you as much as it protects us.

Some vehicles cannot be opened non-destructively. Fully electronic latches and certain security systems need a dealer or an automotive locksmith. If yours is one of them, the driver will tell you rather than damage it trying.

What this covers

  • Non-destructive entry using proper lockout tooling

Questions about door unlock

Will you damage my door?
The correct tools are designed not to. If a vehicle cannot be opened without damage, the driver stops and tells you rather than forcing it.
What identification do I need?
Photo ID plus something linking you to the vehicle — registration, insurance, or a matching address is typical.
My child is locked in the car. What do I do?
Call 911 right now. Do not wait for a tow truck. Emergency services will get the vehicle open immediately.
