Terms of Service

Governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.

These terms cover use of this website and the services Swift Towing provides. Service-specific terms — including charges, storage, and liability — are set out on your tow ticket, which you sign at the time of the job.

Who these terms are with

These terms are between you and Swift Towing (“we”, “us”). Using this website or requesting a service means you accept them.

This website is not a dispatch channel

Submitting the online request form does not dispatch a truck. A request is reviewed by a dispatcher, who will call you. If your situation is urgent — particularly if you are in or beside a live traffic lane — call +1 (613) 890-9008 instead of using the form. If anyone is injured, a vehicle is on fire, or you are in immediate danger, call 911 first.

No guaranteed response time

We do not guarantee an arrival time, and nothing on this website should be read as one. Response depends on your location, traffic, road and weather conditions, and how many calls are ahead of yours. During cold snaps and snowfall events, waits across every operator in the region extend significantly. A dispatcher will give you a realistic estimate at the time of your call — an estimate is not a commitment.

Charges

Charges are explained before your vehicle is loaded and appear itemized on your tow ticket, which you sign. If a job turns out to require work beyond what was estimated — an unexpected winch-out, extended time on scene, or specialized equipment — the driver will tell you before performing it.

A dispatched truck that arrives to find the job cancelled or the vehicle already gone may attract a cancellation charge. Payment is due on completion unless a commercial account with agreed terms is in place.

Authorization to tow

By requesting a tow you confirm that you are the vehicle's owner or an authorized agent of the owner, or that the tow is otherwise lawfully authorized. For private-property removals, authorization must come from a named representative of the property. We do not remove vehicles on anonymous requests.

Vehicle condition and personal property

We photograph vehicles before loading to record their condition at the time we take custody. Please point out any existing damage to the driver so it is noted on the ticket. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, for damage arising from a pre-existing mechanical or structural condition, or for damage that is unavoidable given the state of the vehicle.

Remove personal property and valuables from the vehicle before it is transported where you are able to. We are not responsible for items left inside a vehicle.

Storage

Where a vehicle is stored, storage charges accrue daily from the date stored until the vehicle is released. The applicable rate is disclosed at the time of the tow and shown on the tow ticket.

Release requires proof of ownership, government-issued photo identification, and settlement of outstanding charges. Where charges remain unpaid, we may exercise rights available to us under Ontario law, including a possessory lien under the Repair and Storage Liens Act.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising from a service is limited to the amount charged for that service. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost income, missed appointments, or rental costs. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Website content

Site content is provided for general information. Safety guidance on this site is general and does not replace the judgement of emergency services at a scene. We update information as circumstances change but do not warrant that every page is current at every moment.

The Swift Towing name, logo, and site content are our property and may not be reproduced without permission.

Portal access

Driver, dispatcher, and administrator accounts are for authorized staff only. Account holders must keep credentials confidential and must not share access. Records in the portal contain customer personal information and must be handled accordingly. Access may be suspended at any time.

Complaints

If something goes wrong, call +1 (613) 890-9008 and tell us. We would rather hear about it directly and fix it. You can also send us a message.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the courts ofOntario have jurisdiction over any dispute.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version in force at the time of your job is the one that applies to it, and the wording you sign on a tow ticket is recorded with that ticket.
